Finding PEACE

5 October 2026

We live in a world that seems to be in ever more turmoil. Wars and threats of war, major world powers flexing their muscles, global financial insecurities. And recently, disturbing revelations about AI and apparently, its potential threat to human beings.

How do we find Peace amid all of this?

How is it possible to continue to live without being overwhelmed?

Many would say that as individuals we have no control over international matters, so best to ignore them. However, the reality is that our whole way of life is impacted by them. From the simple issue of the cost of fuel and it’s flow-on effects in the cost of living, to the worries about security of our personal and private information, to the sense of a world rapidly running out of control.

It is as a Christian, and only as a Christian, that I find meaningful peace. Jesus Christ taught us to be peace-loving:

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God”. Matthew 5:9.

Jesus encouraged us with a message of peace when he was about to return to heaven: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you”. John 14:27.

And his mission of salvation outweighs it all.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”. John 3:16.

To place your future in the hands of God is to know that whatever might befall you, there is an eternal future of security and great peace.
